Hungry Pigeon gets off to a flying start

Manchester's Northern Quarter's Bars and clubs were bursting at the seams tonight for the first night of the North West's newest festival, Hungry Pigeon.

300 bands will be playing over the 4 day event and tonight saw sets from Wave Machines, The Gay Blades and Frazer King.

The photos in this blog show sets at, Urbis (Rook and the Ravens), Moho Live (John Mackie) and Dry Bar.

Saturday hosts a free stage outside in Piccadilly Gardens. And with the weather set to be warm and stay dry it will be a great way to spend the day in the city.

Wristbands can be bought on the door at the venues. £10 day or £19.50 for the weekend
